Troy Villarreal will take over as Medical City’s new president and CEO this fall, as reported by D Healthcare Daily from an HCA announcement. Villarreal will take over for current CEO Erol Akdamar on Oct. 1, when Akdamar becomes president of the HCA North Texas Division.
Villarreal has close to 20 years experience in the healthcare industry, and is currently the CEO of The Medical Center of Plano. As CEO of Medical City, Villarreal will oversee both Medical City Dallas Hospital and Medical City Children’s Hospital.
Troy is also a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, earned his B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 1989, and an MHA and MBA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1994.
