UVA Medical Center Names CMO

The Charlottesville Newsplex announced Chris A. Ghaemmaghami, MD, has been named Chief Medical Officer for the University of Virginia Medical Center.  He has served as the interim CMO since February.

An emergency medicine physician, Ghaemmaghami has worked at UVA since 1998 and has held a variety of leadership roles in the Department of Emergency Medicine, including serving as medical director and vice chair for the department.

The University of Virginia Medical Center is a 70-bed short term acute care hospital.
