The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is expanding its services into Northwest San Antonio with the planned opening of a multispecialty clinic for children in the Shops at La Cantera. “This expansion is another milestone in the Hospital’s journey to become a world-class children’s hospital and further solidifies our commitment to providing the best pediatric health care for children and families in San Antonio and beyond,” said Elias Neujahr, President of the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.
Construction on the new clinic began in late summer and will include several pediatric subspecialties with a primary focus on orthopedics and sports medicine. The 6,500 square foot facility will include 12 exam rooms, imaging services, and outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation all under one roof. The project’s general contractor is D Barnes Construction.
“This is the first time the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio has ventured into a retail space, and we are excited about the easy access and convenience it will provide our families. In the past two years, more than 160 pediatric subspecialists have been recruited by our Hospital, and their services have been in high demand,” Neujahr said.
Pediatric physicians in subspecialty areas such as cardiology, critical care, neurology (including epileptology), hematology/oncology, rheumatology, genetics, and pulmonology are now established in San Antonio. The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio has two pediatric subspecialty centers currently open, one in New Braunfels and another in Westover Hills. The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Physician Group has four locations throughout San Antonio to provide greater access for regular check-ups and preventative health care.
The new multispecialty clinic will host a grand opening and welcome patients in January 2016.
