According to the Natchez Democrat, Natchez Regional Medical Center has chosen Community Health Systems to purchase their facility. Due to a $3 million loss, the medical center’s officials believe that selling the hospital is their best option. Community Health Systems has offered to buy the facility for $10 million, plus another $8 million in pre-paid taxes to ensure that the hospital’s debt is paid for immediately. Both health care organizations have signed a non-binding letter of intent and now will move on to sign a binding purchase agreement that contains details on how the purchase will work.
