According to a release on Business Wire, MedCurrent Corporation, a leading provider of clinical decision support solutions, announced that Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, a 664-bed tertiary-care teaching hospital, has chosen MedCurrent’s OrderRight Radiology Decision Support system to ensure appropriate diagnostic ordering, reduce unnecessary radiation exposure, and mitigate diagnostic costs.

Having OrderRight fully integrated within Cerner Corporation’s Millennium electronic medical record (EMR) ordering system allows patient-specific information within the EMR to be utilized to trigger the system’s clinical rule sets, so that upon ordering, physicians are presented with patient-specific recommended options along with embedded clinical rationale. This allows physicians to manage radiology costs by making the best clinical decisions for the patient.
